Division Policy
New Teams
- New teams may join the active session up until the third week of play if open spots are available
New Players
- New players may be added to the active session up to halfway through the season
- New players with no existing Fargo Rating or APA Skill Level will be assigned the following starter ratings:
- Male – 500 / Female – 450
- New players with existing APA 8-Ball skill level will be assigned the following starter ratings:
- APA 2 = 300
- APA 3 = 350
- APA 4 = 400
- APA 5 = 450
- APA 6 = 500
- APA 7 = 550
- APA 8 = 600
Team Composition
- A team is comprised of 4 players each week.
- Maximum 10 players per team. Max 700 Fargo Rating per player.
- Players may switch teams if no games have been played on player’s current team.
- Weekly team players combined Fargo Rating may not exceed 2300
- If a team plays with a combined Fargo Rating exceeding 2300, the score sheet/score will be adjusted based on a maximum 2300 roster.
- Players may be added during the first half of the season
SoCal BCAPL League Fee/BCAPL Sanction Fee/League Dues
- Captains responsible for all team player league fees, sanction fees, league dues
- League Fee is $10 per calendar year. Sanction fee is $20 per calendar year.
- Weekly league dues are $10 per player per week played (Cash or Zelle only)
- League dues must be paid for forfeits and player name must be assigned
- League dues must be received by first Sunday after the most recently played league night or games/match or may result in forfeit
Scoresheet & Scoring
- Official BCAPL Scoring app may be used (both teams keep score)
- Official SoCal BCAPL paper score sheet may be used (home team keeps score)
- Visitor Team fills out player roster first
- Enter team name and team number on paper score sheet
- Enter amount paid by each player next to their name on the paper scoresheet (dollar amount)
General Prize Eligibility
- Top Individual Awards require 60% of season played
- Banquet raffle participation requires 50% of season played (if applicable)
- Wins, Break & Run, Table Run prizes have no minimum requirement
Match Rules
Start Time/Late Arrivals/Match Forfeits
- Official match start time is 7:30pm. All players must be ready to begin*
- Match must start by 7:40 with a minimum of 1 player from each team*
- Each player receives a 5 minute window to begin their game*
- Players not present within 5 minutes of their game forfeit that game*
- If no player is present by 8:00pm match is forfeited.*
- It is solely the responsibility of the Team Captain to ensure that 4 players are present on time to play each week.
*Captains discretion is allowed. Any variation requires agreement from both Captains.
Game Forfeits
- At the start of each game, a captain will notify the opposing captain of the 5 minute clock
- If a player is not present by the expiration of their 5 minute grace period that game is a forfeit*

Makeup Matches
- One make-up match allowed per captain. Must give 24 hour notice
- Make-up matches may be played at any time on the assigned table. If not available, must use same size table as originally assigned. All unplayed make-up matches will be provided an official night for make-ups.
Substituting Players
- Not allowed
- Up to 10 players are allowed per team
- Players may be added during the first half of the season
Playing Out Matches
- Allowed only if mutually agreed upon by both Team Captains
Game Rules
Shot Clock
- Player has 30 seconds to complete each shot.
- If a player is taking longer than 30 seconds to complete their shot, the opposing player may request their own Captain/Co-Captain require the shooting players Captain/Co-Captain to use a shot clock for the remainder of that game.
- Offending player’s captain may notify their player at 10 seconds remaining
- If shot clock runs out before shot is made it is a ball in hand foul
Breaking

Sharking
- Distraction or disruption while a player is down to shoot by the opposing player is not allowed and a warning may be given by the shooter
- If the violation repeats, loss of game may occur. Sharking is not allowed.
Coaching/Talking
- Coaching of any kind or talking to a shooter while they are at or approaching the table is not allowed. This includes any language. No talking that may be heard by their player, in any language may occur. Violation of this policy could result in loss of game.
Three Foul Rule
- No three foul rule in effect
Stalemate
- If after 3 consecutive turns at the table by each player (6 turns total), attempting to pocket or move an object ball will result in loss of game, the balls will be re-racked with the player who broke the game breaking again
Watching Hits
- Either the shooter or the opposing player may request a third party watch a shot or monitor game play
- If a third party is asked to watch, both players must agree by saying “yes”
- After both players agree on the person watching the shot, call will be final.
- The person asked to watch the shot should not be a member of either playing team.
- Video of shot or gameplay is allowed if both players agree
- Generally, in the absence of a third person watching a shot or match, calls will go to the shooter
Early 8-Ball
- Any early 8-Ball is a loss of game except on the break. A cue ball foul on the 8-ball is a ball in hand foul and not a loss of game.

Jumping
- Legal jumping is allowed

Calling Shots
- A shooter should designate object ball and called pocket. Any kick shot, bank shot, carom shot, combination shot, safety shot or extreme cut must be called. A foul may be called if shot is not called.
Double Hits
- If the cue stick strikes the cue ball more than once on a shot, or if the cue stick is in contact with the cue ball when or after the cue ball contacts an object ball, the shot is a foul.
- Generally, if the cue ball is within a chalks distance from the object ball, shooter should shoot away from the cue ball or at a 45 degree angle or more to avoid a double hit.
